FANS OF a Sunday roast can now enjoy a traditional lunch at Bowburn Hall Hotel, the hotel and events venue at Durham.
The venue’s Ballroom Restaurant has just unveiled its latest Sunday lunch menu, which offers a selection of five different roast meats, as well as fish dishes and vegetarian options.
Each dish is served alongside classic roast trimmings, such as goose fat roasted potatoes, pan gravy and homemade Yorkshire pudding as well as the chef’s selection of fresh seasonal vegetables.
Bowburn Hall Hotel’s Head Chef, Chris Burgess, has been behind their dishes for over 20 years, and has put together the new roast menu, which changes on a weekly basis.
Many of the ingredients, such as the seasonal vegetables, are grown at the gardens at Bowburn’s sister hotel, Hardwick Hall, near Sedgefield which means everything used is as fresh as possible.
Guests can choose from a range of starters, including a prawn and crayfish salad or chicken liver pâté.
Those looking for classic roast meat for their main course can pick turkey, topside or sirloin of beef, belly pork or lamb, with vegetarian options including chickpea and butternut squash curry with mini poppadoms.
Desserts include a range of classic favourites such as sticky toffee pudding or an apple and rhubarb crumble.
Prices are £21.95 for two courses or four courses for £24.95.
Those who would prefer something lighter can do so at the Bar, Lounge & Conservatory, where they can enjoy a single course for the price of £13.95, or a trio of any three meats for £16.95.
Callum Gallagher, Assistant General Manager at Bowburn Hall Hotel said, “The Sunday lunch at Bowburn Hall is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike.
