Easter Eggs-travaganza In South Tyneside

Cracking good fun is on offer in South Tyneside this Easter.

An egg hunt and Easter bonnet competition will be held in South Tyneside this Sunday (27 March) in South Marine Park in South Shields.

Families are asked to meet at the bandstand and register for both events, which will run between 1pm and 3pm, and have been organised by the Friends of South Marine Park. There will be prizes for various age groups.

The Mayor and Mayoress of South Tyneside, Councillor Richard Porthouse and his wife Pat, will judge the Easter Bonnet contest at 2.30pm.

The Mayor said: “These events are bound to add a touch of “eggs-itement” to the Easter holidays.

“They are sure to keep the little ones entertained while also keeping alive these traditional Easter pastimes.”

The afternoon will end with a kids’ show by Tony Junior at the bandstand.
