CONSTRUCTION firm Esh Group has renewed its long-running sponsorship of the Eagles – the most successful team in British basketball history.
The three-year deal marks the continued partnership of the two North East names.
It will be the seventh year of Esh Group sponsorship for the team and will see the partnership move to a decade of support for the North Easts most successful sports team.
Chief executive Brian Manning and the Eagles’ managing director Paul Blake, along with a number of players, were on hand to celebrate the deal at the Vueling Quayside Seaside in Newcastle.
The “pop-up beach” – complete with deckchairs, beach huts and golden sand – was built for Newcastle’s Business Improvement District company NE1 by Esh Group’s civil engineering arm Lumsden & Carroll.
The sponsorship deal will see Esh Group’s logo adorn the newly launched Kappa team kit.
In 2013 the Eagles underwent a rebrand to the Esh Group Eagles Newcastle as part of naming rights deal – a popular format in basketball.
Paul Blake said: “Continuing our partnership with Esh Group is really important.
“During the last five years they’ve been incredibly supportive of our team and our business, and it’s exciting to continue that work.
“Esh Group has been at the heart of our grassroots community activity and the growth of the Eagles brand.”
Brian Manning added: “Esh Group is committed to supporting the communities in which we work.
“Our long-standing partnership with the Eagles is a key part of that work, and we’re thrilled to take it forward.
“Seeing Esh Group and the Eagles grow together has been extremely rewarding for our team, and the sponsorship is a source of pride for our staff.
“I love seeing the team play – they’re an asset to the region.”
Esh Group has also invested in the Eagles Community Foundation – a charity that aims to grow basketball participation in Tyne and Wear and South East Northumberland through a network of junior clubs, college academies and university level programmes.
