A charity screening of Hidden Figures is set to be shown this month at Vue Gateshead in aid of MediCinema.

The charity brings the joy and escapism of cinema to patients undergoing treatment for complex illnesses and injuries in hospitals around the UK, including the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

The critically acclaimed biographical drama tells the story of  mathematician Katherine G Johnson who worked for NASA.

It charts her struggles and successes as the first African American woman to join the Space Task Group in the early 1960s.

The awe-inspiring film has won the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture and was chosen by the National Board of Review as one of its top ten movies.

Exclusive to Vue in Gateshead, this is a unique opportunity to catch one of this year’s highly rated films ahead of its official release on 17th February, while supporting a fantastic cause.

Coming to Vue Gateshead on 7th February 2017 at 7.30pm.
