North East Connected

Exhibition Planned for The North East Event and Hospitality Industry

On Wednesday February 22nd 2017 over sixty of the North East’s venues and event suppliers will be showcasing their venues and services to businesses, event planners and event agencies across the region and UK at the North East Venue and Event Exhibition.

The one day event will be held at the new 1200 capacity Boiler Shop events venue, located in Newcastle’s Stephenson Quarter.

The Boiler Shop has recently undergone a multimillion pound refurbishment creating a very versatile event space available for weddings, conferences, seminars, meeting and contrived events. The venue is steeped in history and was part of the Stephenson Co locomotive works.

The North East has seen a huge increase over the past year in new venues including hotels, event spaces, restaurants and late night venues. With event planners having so much choice it can be difficult for them to find the most suitable venue for their event and the North-East Venue and Event Exhibition will enable event planners to meet new venues and suppliers to help in the event planning process.

Venues such as The Centre for Life, The Biscuit Factory, Rockliffe Hall, Jesmond Dene House, Wynyard Hall, The Copthorne Hotel and late night venues like Canteen and Cocktails and Bar Beyond will be showcasing what they can offer to the event industry. The event will begin at 9am with a networking event hosted by Event Social. An informal networking event with refreshments. Event suppliers including AV, peripheral entertainment, musicians and aerial acrobats will be performing across the event.

The exhibition will begin at 10am when the 1050 capacity main event space at the Boiler Shop will open and will showcase the best event venues and suppliers the region has to offer. The event is expected to attract local corporate bookers, event planners and agencies across the region. Finishing at 3pm the exhibitors and attendees are invited to the Gin Bar at the Crowne Plaza for more networking and post event drinks.

Chris McConville, founder and CEO of Venyou – A venue and event agency in the region are organising the event. Chris said ‘’ As a company we aim to work closely with event planners and key corporate bookers in the region helping them to simplify the venue finding process. We also help them procure suppliers for their events which saves time, and time is precious for event planners. The launch of the North East Venue and Event EXPO is a natural progression for us as a business and is beneficial for all our clients and partner venues. It will be a fantastic event for the North East event and hospitality industry which we intend to grow year on year’’.
