The award-winning Festival of Thrift, the UK’s national celebration of sustainable living, is back for its sixth year and its third in the woodland surroundings of Kirkleatham Museum and grounds, with an expanded programme for 2018.
A big weekend of activities with something to appeal to everyone, the festival highlights how to save money, be environmentally savvy and live a rich and creative life.
Offering a quirky mix of a packed arts-based programme of entertainment with leading and emerging artists, alongside demonstrations, stalls, talks and workshops offering thrifty advice, tips and tricks as well as innovative tasty food and drink, the hugely popular event is a huge draw for people across the UK, attracting 45,000 visitors last year.
In 2018 the Festival is preceded by a thought-provoking, week-long temporary art installation, Viewpoints by Festival of Thrift, from 19th – 27th August 2018 in locations across the Tees Valley landscape, as well as a launch parade on Friday 21 September.
