Festival preparing to Toast World’s Whiskies

Tynemouth WhiskyFest1Tickets have gone on sale for the North East’s very own Whisky Festival which will take place on Saturday 26th September this year.

The annual event, which attracted more than 400 people last year, is the work of Ben Chambers, owner of the Wine Chambers, whose two North Tyneside stores offer an impressive range of whiskies alongside quality spirits, wine, champagnes and local real ales.

The event, which is held at the Park Hotel, will offer visitors the chance to sample over 80 whiskies over the course of the day as well as meeting representatives from the brands and the distilleries.

Ben Chambers, festival organiser, said: “Last year’s festival was a sellout and it was fantastic to see so many people come to the coast and enjoy sampling and talking about whisky.

“This year we will again have all the major distilleries displaying their whiskies as well as some of the more unusual and rare drams on offer.

“Just some of the Scottish whisky on offer include Ardbeg, Glenmorangie, Cardhu and Caol Ila however countries from around the world will also be on show including Paul John from India,  Hakushu and Yamazaki from Japan and Heaven Hill from the US.”

The Tynemouth Whisky Festival takes place on Saturday 26th September from 11am-4pm at the Park Hotel, Tynemouth.

Tickets are £25 per person and can be purchased from the The Wine Chambers on Front Street, Tynemouth, by calling: 0191 258 5135 or at: http://www.thewinechambers.co.uk/product/tynemouth-whisky-festival/
