Film for Food – Charity Movie Night

A charity movie night is being held next month in aid of a scheme which provides emergency food parcels for those who would otherwise go hungry.

The special screening of Ken Loach’s award winning film – ‘I Daniel Blake’ shows the tribulations of a Newcastle man who suddenly finds himself in the care of the state and having to claim Universal Credit.

“This film is a real eye opener,” said Margaret Brice, FoodShare Co-ordinator.

“The majority of Hambleton’s FoodShare customers experience many of the problems vividly illustrated in the film. We hope it will help raise awareness of those who may find themselves in need of a food bank like ours.”

The film will be shown at South Otterington Village  Hall on Friday 1 December at 7.30

Tickets can be purchased for a cash donation by emailing: socialmedia@hambletonfoodshare.org.uk  or calling 01609 774978.

Snacks and a suggested donation bar will be available.
