Flick the switch to electric driving with Audi UK

Milton Keynes, September 12, 2023 – Audi UK is making the switch to an electric vehicle as easy as possible with a range of offers and packages. As part of the ‘Make the Switch’ campaign, which runs to the end of September, several enhanced finance offers, wall box and charging support and discounted e-tron service plans are available to customers across the UK to support the move to an electric vehicle. For Audi customers based in the London area, in conjunction with the Mayor of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) scrappage scheme, buyers could save up to 16.5 percent on a new Audi BEV.

“Core to Audi’s path of becoming the leading provider of sustainable premium mobility is the development and production of zero-emission, fully electric vehicles – and from 2026 every new Audi launched will be all-electric,” commented director Audi UK Andrew Doyle. “Customer appetite and interest in our BEV line-up are growing rapidly, sales are up 78 percent year-on-year, and our ‘Make the Switch’ campaign will help accelerate that shift by lowering the barriers to entry for many.”

The amount of available support from Audi UK ranges between £6,250 and £11,000 depending on the model and is available to all UK customers. A free Ohme wall box charger with standard installation is also included in the Make a Switch offer. The 7kW recharging unit enables quick and convenient charging at home via the Ohme app. For customers that already have a suitable home charger, alternative offers of a £500 contribution or £500 charging credit on the Audi charge card can be redeemed.

To support the reduced cost of ownership for BEVs, Audi’s e-tron service plans are being reduced to £499 during Make the Switch. Customers who choose to insure through Audi Car Insurance will also receive £100 contribution towards their annual policy.

News of the Make the Switch campaign coincides with the expansion of the ULEZ in London. The policy is designed to remove the worst polluting cars from the Greater London area roads, the owners of which now face daily charges when driving in the designated zone.

As of the end of August, the £12.50 per day charge will apply to any vehicle that enters the zone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day. The zone has been extended to cover almost the entire area inside the M25 orbital road. The minimum emission standards for ULEZ-compliant cars are:

Petrol Euro 4 or newer (generally built after 2005)
Diesel Euro 6 or newer (generally built after 2015)

On top of Audi UK’s support, all London residents can apply for up to £2,000 for scrapping a non-compliant car via the Mayor of London’s scrappage scheme.
