Charley Dixon had just completed her training with a national salon chain when she called in at Shine Hair & Beauty, in Stokesley, with her CV.
The 21-year-old already had six years experience of the industry having started with a part-time job while still at school.
“I went on to study beauty at college but soon realised that hair was my first love and what I really wanted to do,” explained Charley, who has a three-and-a-half year-old son Freddie.
“I was really committed to becoming qualified and completed my level three in hairdressing in just six months. I feel like I’ve slotted in really well at Shine and I’ve already met some lovely clients.”
Salon owner Stephen MacVean said: “Charley came to us at exactly the right time as a vacancy had just become available.
“I was impressed by her commitment and she’s clearly talented, she just needed a platform to show her skills. We’re really pleased to have her on the Shine team and she’s already proving very popular with clients.”
The salon, in Stokesley High Street, is continuing to recruit, including for a further senior stylist.
Charley, of Ingleby Barwick, is in the salon on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and is currently doing introductory offers of a £20 cut and finish and a £50 cut and colour.
