An intensive free training course designed to provide the skills needed to work in business administration roles is being offered to County Durham residents.
County Durham Housing Group’s ‘Get Into Business Admin’ programme will help social housing tenants keen to start a career in the sector.
Running from Monday, 18 June at Auckland Youth and Community Centre in Woodhouse Close, Bishop Auckland, the course offers essential skills like understanding data protection, professional telephone manner and email etiquette.
Designed by experts from the sector and delivered by friendly and approachable trainers, sessions will focus on interpersonal skills, making a good first impression, and working effectively as part of a team. The course will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm each day.
Sean Robson, Community Training Coordinator at County Durham Housing Group, said: “This course will provide a real understanding of how businesses, big and small, work. Everyone who takes part will pick up an array of new skills that they’ll be able to put into practice in any business administration roll, including computer skills, effective communication and professional etiquette.
“It’s an intensive course so that within five days, learners can improve their confidence and pick up the key things they’ll need when applying for a job or attending an interview. It will give a real head start to anyone looking to get into a business administration role.”
