County Durham residents are being offered the chance to improve their English and maths skills with a series of free courses.
County Durham Housing Group is offering people the opportunity to sign up to a free 10-week Level 2 English and Maths training programme at a variety of locations.
The next full day course will be running at Auckland Youth and Community Centre in Woodhouse Close, Bishop Auckland, from Wednesday, 2 August. Horden and Peterlee RFC Rugby Union Club on Eden Lane in Peterleewill also be hosting similar classes from Thursday, 7 September.
And dedicated half day Level 2 Maths classes will be running at Pelaw View Centre on Sherburn Road in Gilesgate from Thursday, 7 September between 1pm and 4pm.
The courses are being run by County Durham Housing Group as part of its commitment to improving employment prospects for residents.
County Durham Housing Group Community Training Coordinator, Sean Robson, said: “English and maths skills are absolutely vital in the jobs market today.
“These courses are a great way to brush up on your skills and make sure that you’ve got the qualifications on your CV that employers are genuinely looking for … and of course, because they’re free, you’ve got nothing to lose.”
