LOCAL small and medium sized firms are being offered the chance to be more competitive, learn how to access funding and get up-to-date business advice at a free event in Redcar.

Enterprises with fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £50 million are invited to the Redcar & Cleveland Business Growth Surgery from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 9 May at the Innovation Centre, Kirkleatham Business Park, Redcar.

Packaged into a time-efficient morning session, the Business Growth Surgery will give businesses the chance to book one-to-one appointments with a host of leading business experts to access information and guidance on:

  • funding opportunities and financial advice
  • improving current business technologies
  • apprenticeships and skills training to take your business forward
  • supply chain development
  • how to win business in the public sector
  • exporting
  • coaching and mentoring for business owners

Councillor Bob Norton, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, said: “Smaller businesses are an incredibly important part of our local economy and we’re committed to helping them any way we can.

“The Business Growth Surgery will help smaller firms punch above their weight and be even more competitive. I’m grateful for the businesses taking part and offering their invaluable expertise free of charge for the good of our local firms.”

The event, offered as part of the Tees Valley Business Compass Growth Service, aims to help new and established businesses to improve and grow.
