Free pantomime fun at intu Metrocentre

intu Metrocentre is inspiring young shoppers to dream big in its latest free Metrognomes pantomime, with an epic tale of a miniature adventure.
From Monday 9 April to Friday 13 April the shopping centre’s loveable mascots will be entertaining visitors of all ages, with Honey, I shrunk the Metrognomes.
The new adventure sees Sherbet, Maggot and Rusty exploring Herbert’s garden in Forestland. Sherbet has brought a delicious picnic for the Metrognomes to share, including a brand new recipe. When the Metrognomes take a bite something amazing happens – they are shrunk down to the size of a mouse. During their travels the Metrognomes make a new friend, a snail who wants to be an Olympic champion!
intu Metrocentre’s youngest shoppers will find Herbert, Sherbet, Maggot and Rusty taking centre stage in Exhibition Square, near Primark, and with four performances every day there are plenty of opportunities for the girls and boys of the north east to catch the exciting new adventure.
Honey, I shrunk the Metrognomes is part of a programme of free family entertainment provided by intu Metrocentre during the school holidays. The free Metrognomes’ shows have been running for over 20 years and in that time have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of children, some of whom now bring their own children to join in the family fun.
Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at intu Metrocentre, said:
“At intu Metrocentre we know how important it is to keep little ones entertained over the school holidays and our free Metrognomes’ show is sure to do just that.
With fun, music, dance and games Honey, I shrunk the Metrognomes will get our youngest visitors singing and dancing. We hope it will put a spring in their step and inspire them to dream big!”
