Friarage Theatre in Yarm set to bring world famous works of art to the region

The Friarage Theatre in Yarm is set to bring world famous works of art to the region through the Exhibition on Screen (EOS) project.

EOS screens blockbuster art events from galleries across the world intertwined with artist biographies and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

The renowned artists to be featured in screenings starting in September include Canaletto, David Hockney, Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet.

The Friarage Theatre is Yarm School’s state-of-the-art 140-seat venue with a cinema quality HD projector and surround sound. The theatre shows a wide range of live screenings from the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company to opera being performed in Italy.

David Dunn, Headmaster of Yarm School, said: “The Princess Alexandra Auditorium and Friarage Theatre at Yarm School are forging a strong reputation as one of Tees Valley’s leading arts and entertainment venues.

“This has included live screenings from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, shows featuring famous performers including singer Leo Sayer and comedian Jimmy Carr and our own theatrical productions starring our talented students.

“We have fantastic state-of-the art facilities at Yarm School, including the award-winning Friarage Theatre and the Princess AlexandraAuditorium, and opening them up to outside events ensures they are used to their fullest potential.

“The season of EOS screening at the Friarage Theatre perfectly complements our wide-ranging entertainments offering.”
