Get set for this year’s SG Petch Darlington 10k

The 32nd annual SG Petch Darlington 10k run is set to take place on Sunday 11 August.

To celebrate, there is a special launch to be held at Joseph Pease Place in the town centre on Saturday 2 March to welcome SG Petch – the new principal sponsor of the 10k. There will also be an array of vehicles from the car dealership on display.

The Northern Echo team will also be in attendance handing out a free bottle of water courtesy of Aldi with every paper sold.

Phil Haymer, Race Director, said:

“We are delighted to host another 10k run and hope to see even more entrants than last year.

“The race has proven itself to be hugely popular, and we trust that the launch event on Saturday will have people raring to go. The Saturday edition of the Northern Echo will also include a £3 discount entry form from inside the paper on the 2 March only.

Darlington Rotary Club continue its irreplaceable voluntary support of the 10k which assists the race organisers being awarded a GOLD for Outstanding Race Management by BARR (British Association of Road Races). In return, race officials give a donation to Rotary’s chosen charity, this year it will be Families & Conductive Education (FaCE), a children’s charity in Darlington.”

In addition to the 10k, there will also be the Junior 3k Road Run for 8-14 year olds and a Family Fun Run which is open to all ages.
