Go North East’s Seasider express service to Whitby and Scarborough returns

Go North East, the region’s largest bus operator, has announced the return of its popular seasonal Seasider X11 service to Whitby and Scarborough.

The service, which will be operated by a premium coach, will serve Newcastle, Gateshead, Heworth, Washington Galleries, Peterlee and Middlesbrough before heading to the North Yorkshire coast.

It will run on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays between 28 May and 4 September.

Day tickets can be bought directly from the driver, and are priced at just £20 for adults, £10 for concessions and children under 16, or £50 for a group of any four people.

The tickets include travel on any connecting Go North East buses, and also give you a free ride on the Beachcomber open-top bus that runs along Scarborough seafront and can take you Alpamare and Sea Life.

Customers will also be able to track the service in real-time on the Go North East app.

So, if you fancy around seven hours in Whitby or six in Scarborough, why not hop on board?

Stephen King, commercial director at Go North East, said: “We’re delighted that our Seasider X11 service is returning for another season after its successful launch last year, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back on board.

“With award-winning beaches, lovely harbours and great family attractions, there’s plenty to see and do for everyone at the North Yorkshire coast.”
