Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes North East, has donated 12 recycling bins to Green Lane CE Primary School in Barnard Castle as a part of its go green initiative.
Representatives from the new Five Acres development in Barnard Castle have been working closely with the school in a series of green activities, including in a recent campaign where they helped the children plant flowers in decorated pots to mark the beginning of spring. This month, each class has received a waste paper recycling bin from David Wilson Homes, to assist them in their wider efforts to recycle as many materials as possible in the classroom.
David Wilson Homes recently announced the renewal and extension of a unique partnership with the RSPB for another three years. The partnership aims to deliver more wildlife friendly housing across the North East, helping to give nature a home.
Anthea Enzor, School Business Manager at Green Lane CE Primary School, commented: “We’re very grateful to David Wilson Homes for donating our classrooms some much needed recycling bins. As a school, we’re becoming more aware of how much waste can be recycled and the benefits that can have for our environment, so I’m sure the new bins will be well used throughout the school!”
Steven Ball, Sales Manager at David Wilson Homes North East, said: “We’ve had great fun working with Green Lane CE Primary School with the team from our Five Acres development, and we hope to continue working with them on green initiatives throughout the year. Here at David Wilson Homes, we are committed to encouraging nature friendly best practice, and so we’re delighted that the school will now be able to dispose of their materials in an environmentally friendly way.”
