Hallowe’en fun flies into intu Metrocentre

LITTLE wizards and witches, ghouls and ghosts, are invited to join shoppers for some Hallowe’en fun at intu Metrocentre this weekend.

And the centre’s Heads of Fun flew in specially to ensure events got off to a magical start.

Mac Toal, eight, from Prudhoe and seven-year-old Myah Rose Wilson, from Sunderland, made a special visit to the centre on their broomsticks, to stock up on suitable spooky costumes in preparation for two days of activities.

“This is brilliant – I feel just like Harry Potter,” said Mac, “and Myah and I can’t wait to have the best Hallowe’en ever.”

On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, retailers from across the centre will be joining in the fun and taking part in a pumpkin carving competition.

Not only will the most creative retailer win a prize but shoppers will also have the chance to win an intu Metrocentre gift card by voting, via Facebook, for the pumpkin they think deserves to win.

Little vampires and spooky shoppers who head to Exhibition Square on Saturday will also be able to take part in a whole host of Hallowe’en crafts and activities – and the centre hopes as many as possible will wear their scariest and spookiest costumes in honour of the occasion.

Helen Atkinson, marketing manager, said: “A number of our retailers really go to town for Hallowe’en and some of the decorations and costumes on sale look amazing.  We’ve got a packed programme of things to do and this looks set to be most fun Hallowe’en ever.”
