Hambleton’s popular free business networking event will welcome a special guest this week.

Thirsty Thursday will be joined by Dave Goodwin, Executive Director of Hambleton District Council, who will be revealing more details about plans for the future of the area’s market towns.

Mr Goodwin will share details from a new ‘Vibrant Market Towns’ report which looks at the future of Northallerton, Thirsk, Easingwold, Bedale, Stokesley and Great Ayton. In addition, he will talk about plans to help deliver new projects and develop business networks in the Hambleton area.

Businesses in and around Stokesley are invited to attend Thirsty Thursday free of charge to find out more about how Hambleton District Council’s plans could help them as well as to promote their services, skills and opportunities.

Thirsty Thursday was the brainchild of Stokesley business women Anna Addison, who runs PR company Anna Addison Associates, and Sue Thompson, who runs Catch Design Management.

Anna said: “Hambleton is a great place work and live thanks to the varied mix of businesses based here and the nature of the business community. Stokesley itself is a buoyant market town made up not only of the High Street but also the business parks and thriving home-based businesses. However, now more than ever we need the support of our local council and business organisations to help us plan for the future.”

Sue added: “There are some interesting plans afoot for our market towns and we’re very much looking forward to hearing what Dave Goodwin has to say. It’s also a great opportunity for businesses to put any questions they may have to a senior figure within the local council.”

Thirsty Thursday, held at The Mill on Springfield, is free to attend.
