Handbag Clinic cleans up with millions of pounds of designer handbags

Handbag Clinic’s Abbie Pratt working on a Hermes handbagHandbag Clinic, which cleans and restores handbags and accessories from the world’s most prestigious designers, is celebrating a significant milestone, three years after its launch.

More than £20million pounds worth of handbags have been lovingly cleaned and restored at its handbag centre in Burnopfield, County Durham, with 20 staff working on bags from the world’s top designers including Mulberry, Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

One customer alone has trusted Handbag Clinic with £750,000 worth of Hermes Birkin Crocodile Diamond handbags.

There has been significant investment over the three years in expanding the repair centre, employing new staff and high-level security facilities to protect customers’ designer accessories, including a cage staff entering the repair centre must walk through.

Handbag Clinic also runs a service to restore red soles of Christian Louboutin shoes and sells a range of genuine pre-owned designer bags across its four stores in Leeds, Newcastle, Islington and Chelsea and online. It is committed to providing customers, who are looking to save money or cannot afford to buy new, with preloved or reconditioned genuine goods.

Ben Staerck, managing director of Handbag Clinic, said:  “Demand for our specialist services has been incredible.  Our skilled and professional workers, together with excellent customer service has meant that the business has gone from strength to strength.

“We have ambitious plans to further expand, and open more stores, and the future is looking very exciting.”
