The Sunday Drop-in will help people to discover what small changes they can make to support a healthier life. The Healthy Hub is based inside the Dolphin Centre, on the left of the main doors. The new service launches this Sunday 25 October 2015, from 10:30am until noon, and will continue initially until Christmas. No appointment is needed.
Paddy Gillings, a current user of the service who has lost nearly four stones to date, said: “Just do it – everyone has to start somewhere! Even if you are just thinking about making a change, pop into the Dolphin Centre Hub and chat to someone. It is not how you think it’s going to be: it’s not judgemental or full of people telling you what to do – everyone is really friendly and there to help you.”
Councillor Nick Wallis, Darlington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Local Environment and Transport, added:
“Sundays can often be seen as a lazy day. By taking advantage of the new drop-in service, local people can find out more about the small changes they can make which will make a big difference to their health both now and in the future.”
