A North Yorkshire production company has started the year by completing a major contract to help a well-known Teesside-based company showcase its unique, new product world-wide.

Fridge Productions, based at Saltburn-by-the-Sea, has been working with Made for Trade, in Stockton, to develop a short film promoting their Korniche Aluminium Roof Lantern, a significant development for the company as it’s the first of its kind in the marketplace.

Fridge used their exceptionally high-quality equipment to produce a time-lapse film for Made for Trade to help them showcase the product’s easy installation, which is unusual in a product of this nature.

Fridge’s films are produced using some of the most hi-tech digital cinema equipment available, the same as that used on Hollywood films such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘The Hobbit’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’.

The high production techniques, usually only available in City-based advertising sectors, mean that Fridge can provide magazine-quality, high-resolution images from the films that they produce. In addition, the sophisticated cameras allow motion to be slowed down to a 1/12 of the normal speed, a function that enabled Made for Trade to showcase their new high precision machinery in slow motion.

Fridge recently celebrated its 10th successful year in business working with organisations including the North Yorks Moors National Park, Scarborough Borough Council, the new Alpamare waterpark in Scarborough and Ryedale District Council.

The business, owned by experienced film producer and director David Jinks, also counts organisations such as the BBC, Welcome to Yorkshire, National Geographic, The North Face and Lloyds Bank as clients and in the last year has seen a 20% increase in new work. This was boosted by the company’s success producing a promotional film about the Yorkshire leg of 2014’s Tour de France, which attracted tens of thousands of hits online, and was commissioned by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.

David Jinks established Fridge Productions in 2006 following a successful career in corporate communications in the financial sector. Since then, his business has worked all over the world in locations such as Lebanon, China and Austria on a range of projects for industrial, charitable and travel organisations to name just a few.

David said: “The region where we are based is built on an industrial and manufacturing heritage which has always fascinated me and my team. The perception can often be that these sectors are dwindling but many companies are seeing a resurgence and thriving again. This is certainly the case for Made for Trade and their new development is very significant for their growth.

“Fridge benefits from a great combination of local production experts who understand our region and also a highly-experienced film production crew from across the UK. More and more organisations now need video content for their websites, events and social media to help set them apart and we aim to assist with this in a straightforward and cost effective way.”

Mike Robinson, sales manager at Made for Trade, said: “The Korniche has been developed by the company’s managing director, Bradley Gaunt, and his brother, Ashley, a sports car engineer based in Italy. Together they have developed a highly-engineered product which sets it apart from its competitors. Fridge Production’s film provides an insight into the build-quality and delivery of the product for our target audience and David’s background in corporate communications meant we could maximise the film across social media.

“David and his team provided a great deal of expertise, helping us formulate the approach to the video and delivering a professional and user-friendly product that is continuing to help us advertise the product through several media streams. The video has become a primary focus for our online advertising delivering focus and impact”
