House of Savannah shows off results of recent Makeover

Screen Shot 2015-10-15 at 11.47.06CITY centre lifestyle salon and spa House of Savannah has revealed its new look following further investment to its facilities as it marks first birthday in Newcastle’s Old Eldon Square.

Founded in 2000 by Marc and Kay Cunningham, the business expanded into larger premises last autumn – a decadent four-storey Georgian property – which has since been transformed with a £500k injection.

The final phase of the refurbishment is the opening of a second floor wellness suite, offering a sauna and steam room experience adjoining a relaxation area – the Whisper Lounge.

The urban retreat now boasts a full service spa destination to complement its popular Buddha Lounge chill-out zone, nail bar, pedicure station and boutique therapy rooms nestled into the eaves of the terrace.

Owner Marc Cunningham said: “The wellness development is a seamless extension to our existing salon and spa facilities. We wanted a stylish, cutting edge design which would meet the wide-ranging preferences of our visitors and maximise the space available, and we’re thrilled with the results.

“Our hair salon has enjoyed loyal custom over the years so we’re looking forward to further establishing ourselves as the city centre spa of choice. This time of year is always our busiest season so it’s great to have the wellness suite in place, ready for Christmas.

“It’s given us something else to celebrate alongside a successful first 12 months in our new home.”

The sauna and steam room both boast multifunctional capacity with Roman, Finnish and Bio sauna alongside tepidarium, caldarium and Hammam steam options. There is also a sleek Italian-designed ‘emotional’ shower with waterfall, cascade and vapour programmes to choose from, to complement the thermotherapy.

Marc added: “We’ve noticed a trend developing where customers want to take time out from their busy schedule, away from technology and the hassles of everyday life, so our Whisper Lounge is the perfect remedy to guarantee peace and quiet.”

The wellness suite facilities can be reserved for private use and caters for individuals, couples and groups of up to eight guests. Packages include time to relax in the Buddha lounge with a glass of bubbly and sweet treats.
