Housebuilder and local school children flock together to support wildlife

Primary school children in Hexham have been supporting the local environment by encouraging birds into their school gardens with the help of housebuilder, David Wilson Homes.

Julie Hamilton, Reception Teacher at The Sele First School, commented: “We’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for putting together the activity packs for the classes. It’s really important that the children learn about local wildlife and how we can help them. The pupils had a lot of fun making their bird feeders and we’re excited to see what kind of birds they will be able to spot during the Big Garden Birdwatch and throughout the year.”

Ashlea Wright, Sales Manager at Woodland Rise commented: “David Wilson Homes is committed to supporting the environment around the areas in which it builds, and has a lengthy, supporting relationship with the RSPB. The Big Garden Birdwatch is a great opportunity for us to help The Sele First School educate the pupils on the importance of looking after our wildlife, and we can’t wait to hear how many birds they managed to spot in and around the school grounds.”
