Tenants won’t be left out in the cold thanks to a housing group campaign.
County Durham Housing Group’s ‘winter warmers’ promotion offers top tips for around the home, on how to keep fit and well during the colder months, and also signposts other advisory services like the Met Office and NHS.
The group’s landlords, Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, are working together to prepare customers should bad weather hit using the hashtag #winterwarmers on their social media channels.
Jill Ancrum, Group Communications Manager, said: “For the second year running we are running our winter awareness campaign to ensure that customers can be prepared no matter what the weather throws at us.
“The colder climes can cause major disruption to services overall, especially for our more vulnerable tenants, so we want to raise awareness of the support networks available should bad weather hit.
“Winter can also be an extremely busy time for our repairs lines so by offering guidance on how to prevent things like burst pipes and condensation, we hope to make the colder climes a lot less problematic.”
