Iconic Auctioneers has been confirmed as the UK market leader for collectable live car auctions, achieving a total of £35 million in sales in 2025. The result places Iconic Auctioneers £5 million ahead of its closest competitor, with the figures verified by independent auction market analyst Richard Hudson Evans. Across 10 live car auctions held at major enthusiast events around the UK, Iconic Auctioneers sold 976 cars, delivering a robust 83 percent sales rate and reinforcing its position as a trusted and straightforward route to market for buyers and sellers alike.
The £35 million total represents a strong increase on 2024 and reflects continued confidence in live, event-led auctions supported by online bidding. While many buyers placed bids remotely, the majority viewed vehicles in person ahead of sale, demonstrating the value of access, transparency and the opportunity to inspect cars closely before committing.
In addition to its sales performance, Iconic Auctioneers achieved 29 world records and four UK records during the year. These results spanned a broad range of collector cars, from modern performance icons through to rare post-war classics, reinforcing the firm’s reputation as a purveyor of automotive excellence at all levels of the market.
Rob Hubbard, Managing Director and Principal Auctioneer at Iconic Auctioneers, said: “To be confirmed as the UK market leader is a result we are extremely proud of. Achieving £35 million in car sales, alongside such a high sales rate, shows that buyers and sellers value a business that is open, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Live auctions remain central to what we do, giving people the chance to see cars properly, talk to our specialists and bid with confidence.”
Record results across headline cars
Among the year’s standout sales was a world record £562,500 achieved for a 2000/2024 Prodrive P25, offered directly from its first and only owner with just 121 miles from new. As a modern interpretation of the Subaru Impreza WRC by Prodrive, the result reflected strong demand for limited-production cars that combine technical credibility with real-world usability.
A further world record followed with £393,750 for a 1955 Porsche 356 ‘Pre-A’ 1500 Speedster, presented in preservation class condition. With its originality carefully retained and fully documented, the car attracted significant interest from collectors seeking authenticity rather than restoration.
Iconic Auctioneers also achieved a world record £175,500 for a 2006 Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE formerly owned by the Late Monarch Queen Elizabeth II. Believed to be the only supercharged L322 used by the Royal Household, the sale highlighted the strength of the market for cars with clear provenance and compelling stories.
“These results show the depth of the collector market,” added Hubbard. “Whether it’s a modern performance car, a carefully preserved classic or a vehicle with unique history, our role is to present each car honestly, reach the right audience through our global marketing reach and make the process clear and straightforward for everyone involved.”
