IG GROUP SHORTLISTED FOR NATIONAL AWARD…

A NUMBER of exclusive distribution deals with leading suppliers to the hospitality industry has led to a North East company being shortlisted for a prestigious award.

The IG Group, based at Peterlee’s North East Industrial Estate, provides a range of products to restaurants, hotels, bars and pubs across the UK, which includes a number of brands with whom they have a sole distributor arrangement.

And it is the continued growth of this area of the business that has led to The IG Group being shortlisted in the business development category of the Catering Insight Awards.

The awards attract entries for across the catering industry, with The IG Group the only northern company to make it on to the shortlist in this category.

It is the latest success for the firm, which has become one of the biggest suppliers to the catering and hospitality industry and one of the largest distributors of key brands in the country.

Recent successes include Portuguese company, Vista Allegre, giving The IG Group exclusivity to distribute some of its Casa Alegre range of stunning stoneware, showcasing the confidence manufacturers have in the company’s ability to market and sell its products.

Along with Casa Alegre, the company has exclusive deals to supply goods from brands such as Metropolitan Glassware, RAK, Sango- one of the world’s biggest ceramics manufacturers – Urban Bar, Maxima and Heritage.

Stephen Hoey, CEO of The IG Group, said the nomination was the icing on the cake of a highly successful year.

“We have had an extremely busy year, with bringing a range of new brands on board and opening a showroom in London,” he said.

“We have worked hard to consolidate our foothold in the south while still maintaining an extremely strong presence across the north and beyond.

“This nomination is great recognition from within our industry and we’re proud that we are able to represent the North East.”

The winner of the Catering Insight Awards 2019 will be announced at an event in London on 28 November.
