Impeller Assurance and Resilience delivers paediatric first aid training for new Beacon of Light nursery

Impeller Assurance and Resilience, the Sunderland-based social enterprise, has delivered expert paediatric first aid training for Siblings Nursery, a new nursery opening in Sunderland’s innovative sports and education facility, Beacon of Light.

Impeller, which is a member of NOF Energy and the commercial partner of the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, provides fire compliance services and training to a variety of businesses throughout the UK including first aid training, leadership development programmes and fire risk assessments.

The first aid training is particularly sought after by companies that are responsible for young children, such as Siblings Nursery, which provides high-quality childcare and education in the Sunderland region.

The training, which follows the official OFSTED syllabus, focuses on effectively resolving emergency scenarios, including anaphylaxis, head injuries, asthma and emergency life support. Impeller offers flexible running times, including weekends and evenings, to cater for a range of different industries to ensure minimal disruption to businesses.

Joe Cummings, Paediatric Trainer at Impeller, said: “It was great to teach nursery staff such an essential and important subject, covering everything from defibrillators to anaphylaxis. As an ex-fire fighter, it’s also brilliant to know that Impeller gives their profits to the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service to help fund community projects.”

Paul Livingstone, Business Development Manager at NOF Energy, said: “Impeller’s services contribute significantly to both North East businesses and the local fire brigade service. It is a fantastic example of an NOF Energy member that can apply its services across many different industries to help companies develop in the region.”
