Aiskew Under Fives (pictured) moved to Bedale Scout Hut two years ago and since then have been overwhelmed with new starters putting a strain on resources to provide adequate equipment and appropriate toys, especially in the outdoor area.
“The funding from the council’s ‘Small Grant Scheme’ has enabled us to develop our outdoor area with playground designs on the tarmac, installation of a playhouse, mud kitchen and outdoor storage area for new and current equipment,” said Laura Court, Deputy Manager.
“In addition we have been able buy extra resources to cater for the needs of our young children including trikes, water play kit, chalkboards, magnifying glasses and tape measures.
“The improvements to the quality of our facilities and activities for the under fours will ensure the children have the best possible opportunities to grow and learn as individuals, building their confidence and motivation preparing them for a positive start to their school life.”
