One of the region’s leading training organisations has joined forces with County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) in recognising the best fire service staff who have really made a difference to their community.
JB Skills Training Ltd will be awarding the Outstanding Contribution Award at CDDFRS’ annual ‘Being the Best’ award ceremony.
The event, which is held on Friday 2nd February at Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, will recognise and reward members of CDDFRS who have made a significant outstanding contribution at work during the previous year.
Nominations for the various categories began back in November with colleagues voting for those they believe should be formally acknowledged.
Dave Macmillan, managing director of JB Skills, said:
“We have utmost respect for those in the fire service at JB Skills. We work closely with the Tyne and Wear branch supporting them with their Levy already, so when we heard about this amazing event we were keen to support the Durham and Darlington organisation too. “
Awards will also be given to five other categories including leader, frontliner, newcomer, support and innovator.
Stuart Errington, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer, said:
“Our staff show dedication and commitment every day of the year, but I think it is important to recognise those who have gone the extra mile. This is our first ever ‘Being The Best Awards and I’d like to thank those who have supported us from the corporate world, we are very excited and grateful to have JB Skills with us, amongst others!”
JB Skills is a Sunderland based training company, that delivers a host of packages to both Levy and non-levy employers. Training can be bespoke and can be tailored for teams or individuals across a range of industries and fields.
Dave Macmillan concluded:
‘We are delighted to be awarding the outstanding contribution award. We expect there will be few tears in the room on the night with some very emotional and inspiring stories. Good luck to everyone nominated and we look forward to seeing you then!”
