Join the live web chat to discuss the future of Redcar and Cleveland

redcarandclevelandRESIDENTS are being encouraged to take part in a unique opportunity to discuss the future of Redcar and Cleveland by joining in with a live web chat.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has for the first time introduced the online tool to engage with its residents about its draft Local Plan, a draft document that sets out the proposed long-term strategy for the borough.

The web chat is taking place on Tuesday 19 July, from 12pm to 1pm and 5pm to 6:30pm.

Members of the public will be able to speak directly to council officers about their views on the draft document, which sets out a vision for how Redcar and Cleveland will be developed up to the year 2032. It explores proposals around housing, employment, retail and town centres, natural and built environment, and transport.

Cllr Dale Quigley, cabinet member for economic growth at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, said:

“The Local Plan will provide a blueprint for successful and thoroughly planned growth, to boost the economy in Redcar and Cleveland, create new training opportunities, skills and jobs, and deliver the new homes and employment land needed to support economic growth.

“We want to ensure that as many residents as possible, including our young people in the borough, get the opportunity to give their views on the Local Plan, and by doing a live web chat we hope to make it much easier for people to engage with us.”
