LIAM LOVES ESCALATORS CAMPAIGN RISES TO THE TOP WITH AWARD

Pickerings Lifts is delighted that LEIA (the trade association and advisory body for the lift and escalator industry) has received an award for their escalator safety campaign, ‘Liam Loves Escalators’.

LEIA, alongside Hampshire-based marketing company bandv, won the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ award at the Trade Association Forum’s Best Practice Awards in a ceremony at Drapers’ Hall in London on Tuesday 10th July.

The ‘Liam Loves Escalators’ campaign was launched last September and focuses on a young boy called Liam and his toy dinosaur as they learn about the ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ of escalator safety.

Pickerings Lifts helped promote the campaign across the country, visiting schools and community groups to hand out free copies of the book, even teaming up with Middlesbrough Football Club to give books out to young fans.

QHSE Manager at Pickerings Lifts, Amanda Stonier, was invited to the awards ceremony alongside representatives from LEIA and bandv, where they celebrated winning their category.

Amanda said: “Thousands of people are injured on escalators every year so anything we as an organisation can do to raise safety awareness, especially amongst children and their parents, is more than welcome.

I’m so pleased that LEIA have been commended for their hard work on this campaign and Pickerings Lifts will do all it can to support LEIA’s health and safety messages now and in the future.”

Lawrence Dooley, LEIA Safety & Training Manager said: “We were absolutely delighted at the positive response we received to ‘Liam Loves Escalators’ across the country and winning an award for it was a fantastic end to the campaign. Again, we would like to thank Pickerings Lifts who went above and beyond to help promote the campaign, both nationally and locally.”
