LISA STANSFIELD TO APPEAR IN THE NORTH EAST THIS SUMMER…

AN AWARD WINNING soul and R&B artist, who has sold more than 20 million records, is heading to the North East’s biggest music festival this summer.

Lisa Stansfield will perform her greatest hits when she takes the stage at Hardwick Live Festival, at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, County Durham, on Sunday 18 August.

The singer rose to fame in 1989 with the release of her debut album Affection, which took top ten chart positions in countries across the globe and produced one of her biggest hits – All Around the World.

She went on to release eight more albums and win numerous accolades including three Brit awards, two Ivor Novello awards and a Billboard Music award.

Lisa’s most recent album Deeper was released in April 2018 to critical acclaim and chart success, which led to a string of sold-out dates across Europe and the singer’s first tour in the US in more than 20 years.

John Adamson, who owns Hardwick Hall Hotel, is delighted to welcome Lisa to the stage on Sunday.

“Lisa Stansfield has such a recognisable sound and it’s no surprise that her music is still so popular,” said John.

“She has a fantastic catalogue of music, both from the early days of her career and the new sound on her latest album, which I think will be a big hit with festival-goers.

“Lisa is joining an amazing line-up across the weekend and I can’t wait to see her perform.”

Hardwick Live Festival takes place from 17 to 18 August, with headline performances from Manic Street Preachers on Saturday and James on Sunday.

Also taking to the stage over the two days are The Zutons, Stiff Little Fingers, Ziggy Marley, Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, Billy Bragg, The Sherlocks, and The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club.

Club brands Glitterbox and Retro will take over the Coachhouse Courtyard with a dance arena, hosting top DJs including Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, Jeremy Healy and Brandon Block.

And this year the festival will also welcome a BBC Tees Introducing stage, featuring ten up-and-coming artists from across the region.

Tickets for this year’s Hardwick Live Festival are currently on sale at £55 for one day or £99 for both days. Concession tickets are available for children and 13-17-year-olds.

Camping and glamping options are available for those who want to immerse themselves in the festival experience.
