North East chain, Dicksons, has opened its 34th store. The new-style store on Durham Road Retail Park in Sunderland represents an investment of £200K and will create 8 jobs.
New features like self-service pastries and an updated till system for swifter service aim to cater to the busy lifestyle of its customers, while a back-of-house kitchen allows for greater personalisation of products to maintain the quality that established customers have come to expect from the brand.
Mike Dickson, family member and Retail Growth & Development Director, says: “This is the first Dicksons store of its kind in the North East and we are so excited to be launching it in Sunderland.
“We’ve focused on providing a personalised customer experience – having a back-of-house kitchen means that we can tailor products to a customer’s preference – so if customers want their saveloy to be seared on the griddle or like chilli flakes on their eggs – they can just ask.
“Our new stores focus on fitting in with people’s busy lifestyle – with features like a self-service area and a loyalty app – while still maintaining the quality and friendly service that we have always been known for.”
All Dicksons products from pies and sausage rolls to saveloy dips are made in its South Shields factory and it is now the largest family-run producer of food products in the region.
