Local Greyhound Charity Appeals for a Merry Christmas for two of its loneliest hounds

Volunteers at the Pelaw Grange branch of The Retired Greyhound Trust are desperately hoping that loving homes are just around the corner for some of their longest serving residents.

Matt and Mark have both been in search of loving homes for over two years now. These two homeless hounds have been ignored by hundreds of visitors who have chosen to adopt one of their other lucky four-legged friends.

The team at Pelaw Grange RGT are hoping that this lonely duo might not have to spend yet another Christmas in kennels.

The Retired Greyhound Trust is a national charity that helps find loving homes for greyhounds when their racing days are over. The RGT has around sixty volunteer-led branches across the country who help to find homes for over four thousand greyhounds each year…but for Matt and Mark, the wait for their forever family continues.

Matt is 9 years old and he has been in kennels for almost three years now. He’s a very handsome boy with a playful and cheeky nature, he would flourish in the right home.

Whilst 6-year-old Mark is a bubbly boy with a cracking personality. He is full of life and makes everyone smile. He is the life of the kennels and needs the chance he deserves for a life with his forever family.

Amanda Curry is Volunteer at Pelaw Grange RGT:  “It would mean the world to everyone here at Pelaw Grange RGT to see our long stayers find their forever homes. We have seen these dogs come out of their shells, socialise with people and show how loving they are. Matt and Mark are such wonderful characters they need to find the perfect forever home that they deserve.”

Both under 10 years of age, Matt and Mark are still full of fun and love nothing more than a cuddle with a companion.

Amanda adds, “It just takes that one special person to open up their hearts to one of these dogs. Greyhounds make amazing pets, and it would be the best Christmas gift for all of us to find these boys a home. “

If you think you could be the one to offer either Matt or Mark the loving homes that they deserve, please contact the branch on 0191 4102141
