Local school receives star treatment from award winning housebuilder

Five star housebuilder, Barratt Homes, has awarded a star in space to Bill Quay Primary School to say thank you for their help in designing a mascot for its The Maples development in celebration of UEFA Euro 2016. Barratt Developments North East, which includes both the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, was awarded a maximum 5 star rating in the HBF (Home Builders Federation) customer satisfaction survey in March 2017.

Christie Edge, Sales Manager at The Maples, commented: “We loved working with Bill Quay Primary School. We all followed the Euros in 2016 and seeing the children create their own mascot was a fun way for us to take part in our own way. We received lots of creative entries and Bill Quay Primary are more than deserving of their own star.”

Rebecca Webb, Year 3 teacher at Bill Quay Primary School, said: “It was a great surprise to receive our star from Barratt Homes. The children loved being involved in the competition, they had a great opportunity to be creative and it was a real honour seeing one of our pupil’s designs blowing in the wind on the flags at The Maples.”
