Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 09.11.05Voters are being reminded to make sure they are ready to take part in the UK Parliamentary general election (and local elections) taking place on Thursday 7 May.

Margaret Waggott, Head of Democratic Services for Stockton Council, said:

“We’re getting very close to polling day now, so we want to make sure that everyone knows how they can cast their vote and can easily take part on Thursday 7 May.

“If anyone has any questions then there’s lots of information on how to vote at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk or they can call our team on 01642 526196 and we’ll be able to help.”

Kay Jenkins, Head of English regions at the Electoral Commission, said:

“This year’s elections will be a chance for voters to have their say on the issues that affect them. It’s an exciting time, but we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out because they didn’t know what to expect on polling day. Polling stations are open from7am to 10pm, so plan now when you’re going to cast your vote. Information on how to mark your ballot paper will be available inside the polling station.”
