Managing director appointed following a year of exponential growth for Gateshead-based Bloom

Rapidly expanding Bloom Procurement Services, has announced the appointment of Adam Crampsie, as managing director.

Adam’s appointment comes at a time of considerable growth for Bloom, including its recent appointment by NEPO (the North East Procurement Organisation) to deliver the multi-billion-pound NEPRO³ public sector procurement solution. NEPRO³ is a compliant professional services procurement framework, available to every UK public sector organisation.

Adam, who was previously head of commercial for the UK’s leading healthcare charity, Nuffield Health, said: “I have joined Bloom at an extremely exciting time for the business. With the launch of a new technology platform and the NEPRO³ solution, the business is set for continued growth over the next five years. I’m thrilled to be joining the company to lead a fantastic team of people and I’m really looking forward to building on their incredible success to date.

“Over the next five years we will grow the business to deliver greater value for the public sector whilst maintaining our social value promise. This will see greater opportunities for SME and third sector organisations to win work with the public sector. The Bloom marketplace is currently delivering substantial savings for the public sector, this coupled with the organisation’s commitment to creating sustainable social value and its dedication to high-quality project outcomes, sits very highly with my own personal values. I’m proud to join a growing North East business that will have a positive impact on the local economy. Bloom really is the perfect fit.”

During 2019 Bloom has moved to new headquarters in Gateshead, increased its headcount from 30 to over 65 and has seen turnover increase from £92 million in 2018 to £173 million in 2019.

Established in 2012, the company provides a full end-to-end marketplace solution for the procurement, contract management and payment of all consultancy and professional services. Bloom’s solution supports and assists the entire UK public sector to buy and manage professional services from a choice of regional and national suppliers.

Connecting public sector buyers and professional suppliers in a unique way, the Bloom marketplace enables buyers to move quickly and at the lowest possible cost, whilst providing business opportunities for suppliers, removing the traditional barriers of marketing and selling to public sector bodies.

Adam continued: “I bring to Bloom a customer-centric approach that will be directed towards everything we do. I will be challenging the leadership team and every individual in the business to think like the customer, to ensure we deliver an outstanding customer experience through operational excellence.

“My long-term goal is for Bloom to be the go-to provider for all sectors to source their professional services. The company has already made significant strides in the first step of this journey with the UK public sector. To date, Bloom has successfully completed over 5,500 projects which have delivered significant outcomes for local communities and saved an average of 11%-19% against budget for over 360 public sector bodies.”

Adam Jacobs, founder and executive chairman at Bloom, said: “We are extremely ambitious, and we continue to grow at an exceptional rate. It is a pleasure to welcome Adam to the Bloom team as we move to the next exciting chapter in our journey. Our search for a new managing director was extensive with many outstanding candidates. We are extremely fortunate to find someone of Adam’s calibre with values which are also so closely aligned with our own. We have an exceptional team and I am looking forward to the new year with much anticipation.”
