One of the UK’s leading product manufacturer and global supplier of fire, blast and heat hazard solutions – Mech-Tool Engineering Ltd (MTE) – has successfully delivered its third contract in less than 12 months on behalf of a multi-disciplined service and product provider to the energy industries based in Kuala-Lumpur.

Commissioned by Jurunature, MTE has designed and engineered from its fabrication facilities in Teesside, a series of its globally recognised Heat Shields for two major oil and gas projects. The manufacturing and delivery of the Heat Shields for all projects was subsequently completed from the company’s extensive facilities in Korea.

Heat Shield Cladding Systems are designed to protect personnel and equipment against the effects of radiant heat and adverse environmental situations including offshore fields in extreme arctic conditions.

Most recently MTE completed a full turnkey solution from design and engineering right through to manufacturing and delivering of its heat shields that have since been deployed on the platforms of East Belumut, located approximately 160 miles offshore Peninsular Malaysia submerged in 240 feet of water. This was completed in only a matter of eight weeks.

This followed on from the company providing a full turnkey service successfully delivering Heat Shields for Duyong Gas oilfield located approximately 220km east of Peninsular Malaysia on behalf of Jurunature earlier this year.

Speaking about the successful projects with Jurunature, Anthony Jones, Managing Director at MTE said: “We have built an unprecedented reputation for delivering high quality bespoke Heat Shields for major oil and gas projects across the globe and we are delighted to add these recent projects as another success to our already impressive portfolio.

“We have forged an excellent relationship with Jurunature who have an excellent reputation in supplying its leading services to tier one operators on a global scale. Having now completed a series of contracts – on time and to the very highest possible standards – we are optimistic that this will lead to further project wins.

“With manufacturing facilities in Korea, this places MTE at the very forefront of our industry, as we have extensive capabilities to deliver design and engineering from our core team of experts at our head office in the UK, with manufacturing taking place in Busan, Korea, which has excellent port facilities ensuring that we can deliver our leading solutions as quick as possible.”

Established in 1969, MTE has offices all over the globe including Aberdeen, Houston and Korea. The company has four distinct business units; Design Consultancy, Fire and Blast, Modular Solutions and HVAC and EI solutions – working from initial design and consultation right through to manufacture and assistance with on-site installation. It boasts an impressive client portfolio including the likes of working with the likes of BP, Conoco Philips, Centrica and Talisman.
