The deadly doctors William Palmer and Harvey Crippen will be brought to life in a special performance of ‘Murder by Gaslight’ at the museum on Sunday 13 November, from 1pm.
Presented by Don’t Go Into The Cellar! – a Victorian theatre company with bite – ‘Murder by Gaslight’ invites the audience to encounter the murderous men of medicine as the diabolical doctors regale you with their case histories and invite you to judge for yourselves whether they were in fact, guilty as charged!
Sarah Gouldsbrough, Acting Manager at the Head of Steam, said:
“The museum has played host to several theatrical performances recently, and offers a wonderful backdrop for what promises to be a gripping performance.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the theatre company and hope our visitors will enjoy the drama as it unfolds.”
Tickets for ‘Murder by Gaslight’ are now on sale, price £8.50 which includes light refreshments before the performance. The performance is most suited to adults and children over 12 and tickets are available from Reception by phone or in person during opening hours – Wednesday to Sunday 11am – 3.30pm.
