7 young table tennis players from Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club have qualified to represent the North East at the inter-regional National finals
The Inter Regional National finals sees 10 regions run qualifying tournaments, held over the same weekend, for U11, U13 and U15’s age groups with the top two players in each category making up the regional team.
The North East qualifiers held in Middlesbrough saw Ben Mold win the u11 boys, Luke Mitchell wining the u13’s and Hayden Gilmore wining the under 15’s with Matthew Pearson coming second. Amy Mold Joined her brother in team by qualifying in the under 15’s girls, Anya Milne and Charlotte Higgins also join the team by getting a 1,2 in the under 13’s girls.
The 7 players will now compete as team North east at the finals which are to be played at RAF Cosford in May.
