ONE OF the UK’s leading suppliers to the hospitality industry is on course to continue its growth in the south, with the appointment of a leading sales expert.
Shane Cuthbert, who has more than 16 years of experience in sales in catering supplies, has joined IG Brands as sales manager and is helping to expand the company’s presence in the south and London.
IG Brands, formerly Distributor Supplies, is part of the North East-based IG Group, which has a nationally recognised reputation built up over the past 40 years.
Shane has had a long association with the IG Group before deciding to join their ranks.
“I have always been aware of the IG Group and was recently very impressed by the addition of the unique and exclusive brands to their already extensive range,” he said.
“Given the plan to establish a wider audience and customer profile it made perfect sense to take the opportunity to work with them and to help strengthen their reputation in the southern part of the country.”
Shane, who lives in the south, said his first meetings with distributors and wholesalers were already bearing fruit.
“Because I have a long association and a good reputation it has definitely opened doors,” he said.
“And once I’ve been able to showcase IG Brand’s products they have been very well received.
“This is part of a long term growth plan and I’ve very excited to be part of it.”

IG Brands offer a whole range of products under their ‘exclusive’ and ‘established’ banners.
The company has exclusive deals to supply goods from brands such as Metropolitan Glassware, RAK, Sango, Urban Bar, Maxima and Heritage while its established ranges include Churchill, Steelite, Arc, Selden and Kitchencraft among many others.
Based at the North West Industrial Estate at Peterlee, County Durham, IG Group provides glassware, crockery, bar and cocktail supplies from its 150,000 sq ft warehouses at where it holds around 10,000 branded products.
