New partner strengthens private client team at Square One Law

18162Square One Law is delighted to welcome its new partner, Camilla James, a lawyer who specialises in succession and estate planning for individuals. She previously worked at EY (Ernst & Young) London and then, latterly, at EY Reading.

Camilla will head up the private client team at Square One Law and specialise in advising high-net worth families and individuals in regard to succession planning, including where there may be an offshore or domicile element, and setting up the relevant structures so that they can achieve their aims.

She will also advise business owners in regard to the organisation of their businesses to align their personal and business plans during the lifetime of the business.  In addition, Camilla will advise on and setting up charitable vehicles both in the UK and abroad and giving ongoing advice on the running of charities.

Originally from the Borders, but having spent much of her career in London and the Thames Valley, Camilla was keen to move back to the north and was attracted to the North East because of the continuous growth in the region and the fact she will be able to offer a full advisory service to clients for all their individual personal planning issues.

Camilla said: “I was particularly attracted to Square One Law because of its dynamic and forward thinking, its entrepreneurial qualities and the chance to work with its well-respected corporate team to offer our clients a holistic service.”

Private Client consultant at Square One Law, Robin Winskell, said: “We are delighted to welcome Camilla to the team.  Square One Law has a reputation for representing entrepreneurial and fast growing businesses.  Managing the wealth that these clients generate is an important part of the advice and service that the firm provides.  Camilla’s expertise in advising high net worth individuals, families and charities adds further depth to the team.

“She is highly regarded for her ability to provide clear no nonsense advice on all aspects of trusts law, wealth and succession planning.  Camilla’s arrival means we can further expand our range of services with the aim of providing solutions to cut through the complexity of private client planning.”
