Ticket sales for the 2019 European Rugby Champions and Challenge Cup finals in Newcastle will begin from 10:00 BST (11:00 CET) on Tuesday 15 May.
Taking place over the weekend of 10-11 May 2019, Newcastle will be the host city for European rugby’s biggest weekend, with three matches at two stadiums across the two days.
St James’ Park, the 52,000-capacity home of Newcastle United, will be the focus of the weekend when the ground, which has hosted Rugby World Cup and Aviva Premiership matches, stages the European Challenge Cup final on the evening of Friday 10 May, followed by the Champions Cup climax on Saturday 11 May.
In between those two fixtures Newcastle Falcons’ Kingston Park Stadium will play host to the European Rugby Continental Shield on Saturday lunchtime, which will be contested by the two teams chasing qualification for the following season’s European Challenge Cup.
As one of the hottest tickets in sport, demand for the European Champions Cup final has grown year on year since its inception and Newcastle 2019 are proud that almost 30% of tickets will be priced at £45 or less for adults and £25 or less for juniors.
The affordability of watching Europe’s elite teams battle to lift the prestigious trophies extends to the Challenge Cup on Friday 10 May also, with prices starting from £15 for adults and £5 for under-16s. Over 50% of tickets will be available for £20 or less.
To ensure fair access for as many fans as possible an eight ticket per person maximum is in place for the Newcastle finals, with groups looking for greater numbers invited to contact Chris Scott at Newcastle Falcons by emailing chris.scott@newcastle-falcons.
Hospitality packages for both finals will also be offered, with details available by calling 0191 214 2892.
Newcastle 2019 event director Mick Hogan said: “We’re very excited to be hosting the 2019 finals and with the city’s excellent reputation from the success of hosting Rugby World Cup and Aviva Premiership matches at the stadium, we’re looking forward to an incredible weekend next May.
“Demand is set to be huge for these games. Ahead of the public sale, prior rights holders of EPCR, Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle United have enjoyed early access to tickets in certain areas and they have been bought in huge numbers.
“Everyone involved in organising Newcastle 2019 cannot wait to host supporters from across the continent and we hope they are looking forward to joining us for the games.”
Tickets for both finals at St James’ Park can be booked from 10:00 on Tuesday by visiting https://book.nufc.co.uk/ , calling 0844 372 1892 or by visiting the box office at St James’ Park.
