Following the success of their sold out US tour including a headline slot at Wilkesboro’s Merlefest, Transatlantic Sessionsreturns to the UK.

Originating as part of the award-winning TV series, Transatlantic Sessions continues to revisit shared roots and new common ground between today’s finest Celtic and Americana musicians.

The project’s founding musical directors, fiddle maestro Aly Bain and Dobro legend Jerry Douglas, lead the ultimate house band that includes John Doyle, Danny Thompson, Michael McGoldrick, Russ Barenberg, John McCusker, Donald Shaw and James Mackintosh.

The show brings together the best of Nashville, Ireland and Scotland in a format that “affords these musicians the opportunity to play together for the love of the music they are playing.”

Thunder released their brand new studio album, Please Remain Seated, on 18 January 2019. The album, released as the band enter their third decade, is a collection of radically reworked versions of songs from throughout their extensive catalogue.

This album will raise eyebrows, hackles and heartbeats in equal measure. Please Remain Seated is the sound of a band taking a strange journey into their own music, but also distilling thirty years of playing together in order to create something truly compelling, taking in flavours of rock, blues, jazz and soul along the way.

This concert will showcase the band’s musical sophistication and instrumental virtuosity during a fascinating journey through their inspiring and extensive repertoire.

Renowned as the founding fathers of British folk-rock music, Fairport Convention has maintained consistently high standards for over five decades and remains as entertaining as ever. Still bold, still vigorous and still willing to take musical chances, an evening with Fairport never fails to dazzle and delight audiences.

Fairport Convention has attracted critical acclaim throughout its long career. The band has won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, Radio 2 listeners have voted Fairport’s groundbreaking album Liege & Lief ‘The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’, and their story and music frequently features on radio and television.

The concert will also feature an opening performance by special guests The 4 of Us. Hailed as one of the most acclaimed duos in Ireland, brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy are accomplished singers, instrumentalists and song-writers.

The 4 Of Usare one of the most acclaimed bands in Ireland, having been a steadfast part of Irish music history for over 25 years.

Blending contemporary roots with rock, the award-winning band was formed by brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy from the border town of Newry in Northern Ireland.

Their truly unique sound has garnered a large and loyal fan base and an enviable catalogue of timeless songs, including six Top 20 Irish charting albums and several hit singles. A Festival, A Parade

Raucous alt-rockers A Festival, A Parade announce their biggest headline show to date; a one-off performance at Sage Gateshead on Saturday 9 February 2019.

Since their formation in late 2015, AFAP have been heavily championed by the people of the North East, and in their short lifespan have delivered sell out headline performances at The Cluny and The Mining Institute, alongside headline slots at prestigious local festivals Evolution Emerging and NARC. Fest.

2018 saw A Festival, A Parade reach euphoric heights both locally and nationally, starting with the release of critically acclaimed single, Cold Shower, and a slew of festival appearances.

To bookend the year, AFAP embarked upon a fourteen date sold out UK tour in support of rising star Sam Fender, culminating in three nights at London’s Omeara venue and a performance for 1500 people at Newcastle University, the bands biggest show to date.

‘A Festival, A Parade’ bring their frenetic live performance to the beautiful setting of Hall 2, Sage Gateshead. Boasting an expansive collection of fully-fledged alternative rock songs, with impressive live visuals and an array of special guests in tow.
