NOF Energy launches new diversification initiative for supply chain companies

19298NOF Energy, the UK business development organisation for oil, gas, nuclear and offshore renewables sectors, is to host a series of events, which will help supply sector companies diversify into new sectors.

The new initiative called ‘Winning New Business through Diversification’ will seek to inform local supply chain businesses of the numerous opportunities available across the energy sector.  The initiative will consist of three major events including the first one in May, which focuses on the Oil & Gas sector and a further in June, on Power including Nuclear, both of which take place in North East England. The third takes place in September in Aberdeen and focuses on Offshore Renewables.

The first event takes place on May 18 at Hardwick Hall Hotel near Darlington in County Durham and will focus on the oil and gas industry in the widest sense, including opportunities in upstream (petroleum), midstream (pipelines and LNG), downstream (refineries) and shale gas.

Covering important issues in industry, including opportunities, challenges, market overviews and drivers of product transfer, the event will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear from key speakers from organisations including Amec Foster Wheeler, WorleyParsons, IW-Decom, Decom North Sea, IHC Engineering Business and Total E&P UK Ltd. The event, which runs from 9.00am to 4.00pm, will also feature roundtable breakout sessions for delegates. These will focus on supply chain management, efficiency improvement, technology and innovation within the sector and what good business development looks like.

With a membership of around 500 companies and an international network of several thousand energy sector professionals across all tiers of the industry, NOF Energy provides a suite of business development services.  From its calendar of networking events, international business visits, inter-member relationship development and industry knowledge, the organisation has helped its members secure new work worth in excess of £170m in the past 12 months.

George Rafferty, Chief Executive of NOF Energy, said: “The ‘Winning New Business through Diversification’ initiative is very exciting for the supply chain sector. It will help these vital businesses operate even more successfully in niche markets and promote the attractiveness of the oil and gas sector. Another important focus will be key sectors of interest and recent deals and attributes which can incentivise investment.

“NOF Energy has an extensive global network and a range of services that enable companies in the region to be alerted to project developments and the opportunities to build relationships with potential partners and customers.”
