NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2016/17 Civic Awards which honour local people and organisations that make a positive difference to our community.
The awards take place to recognise the people and groups which selflessly dedicate their time and effort to others across a variety of categories, including, for example, services to the community.
The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Ken Dixon, said: “It is important that we acknowledge the fantastic work being done by so many great people for the benefit of others across Stockton Borough.
“These people and groups really deserve their moment in the spotlight and for their amazing contributions to community life to be recognised by these awards. I’d appeal to everyone to think about who makes a difference in their life or community and to nominate them for an award.”
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday 20 January 2017, ahead of the award ceremony taking place in April 2017.
