Smoove & Turrell, The Voluntears and Hayley McKay, will all appear at Hardwick Live 2015 onSaturday August 22.

The one-day festival, held in the grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, County Durham, will feature three stages of live music, headlined by legendary Britpop act, James.

Trimdon band, The Voluntears, will appear on the Main Stage with James, as well as very special guests Razorlight and other big names, including 10cc and The Beat.

The group, featuring lead vocalist Seamus Edge, lead guitarist Scott Stephenson, rhythm guitarist Mark Dunn, bassist Simon Brown and Drummer Jordan Sowerby, recently signed with London-based Flicknife Records and have already supported indie legends The Rifles.

They’ll be joined in their Hardwick Live debut by fellow North East acts Smoove & Turrell and Hayley McKay, who will both be performing on the festival’s Discovery Stage, headlined by Cast.

Newcastle group Smoove & Turrell released their third album, Broken Toys in May 2014, following the success of debut Antique Soul and follow-up, Eccentric Audio.

Their music, which has been praised by outlets such as BBC Radio 2, has been used on a host of primetime TV shows, including Match of the Day, Strictly Come Dancing, Splash and Coronation Street.

Singer/songwriter Hayley McKay, from Darlington, reached the final 200 from 40,000 applicants on BBC talent show, The Voice and sang on the soundtrack for the film Harrigan, starring Steven Tompkinson.

She has recently been writing and performing in Nashville, USA and will be making her Hardwick Live debut fresh from her fifth appearance at Glastonbury.

John Adamson, owner of Ramside Estates which is running Hardwick Live, said: “The North East boasts a huge amount of musical talent and we’re delighted that some of those stars will have a chance to perform at Hardwick Live 2015, alongside established acts such as James, Razorlight, 10cc, Embrace and Cast.

“We look forward to welcoming The Voluntears, Smoove & Turrell and Hayley and hope that the audience offers them a great deal of support.”
