M.I. Supplies, based in Thornaby, has supported 12 employees in participating in a nine-month Continuous Improvement Development Programme, which has resulted in all of them achieving a NVQ Business Improvement qualification.
The Company collaborated with TACS Ltd, which offers a wide range of qualifications to the engineering and manufacturing sectors, to deliver the training programme which was implemented to help improve quality, efficiency and delivery in M.I. Supplies.
Managing Director of M.I. Supplies, Alex Ingham, strongly believes the employee development programme will benefit not only his employees, but his customers too.
He said: “By investing in our employees, we’re also investing in our customers because the better services our staff can offer, the better experience our customers will have.”
Rob Dignen, a teacher at TACS Ltd, was thrilled with the workers at M.I Supplies and believes the course’s particular emphasis on encouraging employees to make positive changes in their own workplace has greatly benefitted the Company.
He said: “The programme has been very well received and has had a noticeable impact on the learners, with regards to their motivation and confidence.”
M.I. Supplies has seen growth of 13% in the first five months of 2016 and is on track to reach its target of £3m turnover by the end of 2017.
As a result, the Company has recently announced a further investment of £100,000 to improve its internal systems, which will take its customer service offering to an even higher level.
Alex believes the reason for the continual growth of the firm, when the industry in general is regressing, is down to its fixed price promise, with some customers now benefitting from fixed rates for 13 years – a customer offer unheard of in the industry.
He added: “I am delighted and proud of our achievements over the past 12 months and the whole team are excited to see how our new systems and servers can help us exceed our goals and grow even more.
“No other company in the industry has fixed pricing promises like we do and this allows us to work in an efficient and lean manner.
“We invest in our customer service on a daily basis and regularly use customer feedback to develop even more bespoke offerings.”
